PET CARE SERVICES

With the population of 19.5 million pet dogs in India in 2018, one can simply say that dogs have a soft spot in our heart, and that is the reason me and my group decided to choose ‘pet care services’ as the subject of our second assignment of the course ‘Introduction to Interaction Design.’

THE FIRST STAGE : RESEARCH

We found out that not only a dog is a man’s best friend, it can also help us to bring healthy changes in our lifestyles. For example, by taking your dog on a walk you can exercise more, having a dog helps to reduce stress, improves your social interactions, etc.

We researched on how dogs are being humanized, what all services are present for the dogs, and we also took interviews from dog owners to find out what problems they face while having a pet dog

THE SECOND STAGE : PAPER PROTOTYPING

After the research was complete, we had to move forward individually. In this stage I chose ‘dog grooming centers’ as my subject.

I further researched on the ‘dog grooming centers’, about what all services are present, what equipment is used and what are the modes of grooming.

After researching, I decided to provide dog owners with ‘grooming at home’ service, and for this I started working on designing a website wireframe.

  • FIRST PROTOTYPE-

The name of the website is ‘doggo day out’ which offers home grooming services. The services provided are
bath and dry,
nail clipping,
ear cleaning,
teeth cleansing,
paw massage,
mouth spray,
full body hair cut,
30-minute massage,
Fur coloring,
fur extension and
fur braiding.

In this prototype, I included a home page with the logo, ‘about us’ section, ‘dog of the month’ section, ‘our services’ section and a ‘booking section’.

After presenting this prototype to my professor, I got a feedback to make a more user friendly prototype.

  • SECOND PROTOTYPE-

In this wireframe, I changed the whole layout to make the website more user friendly.

I included the logo in the top bar, which would be fixed to screen while scrolling so that the user can access it with ease.

The home page in the new wireframe first includes a video, to give the user an idea of how the service would be provided.

The next section includes ‘about us’ so that the user knows about the company.

After that I included ‘our services’ section, unlike the first wireframe which had ‘dog of the month’, so that more emphasis could be given to the services.
once the user would click on our services, a new page would open, where he/she could know about each and every service in in detail (unlike the first frame which just had the name and price of each service on the home page.)

The next section includes the gallery for the user to get a visual reference, below which are the ‘;dog of the month’ section and ‘book now’ section.
in the ‘dog of the month’ page too, I included the winners of past 4 months.

STAGE THREE : STORY BOARD

In this stage, I was told to make a storyboard representing the story of a user.
